One of the most common questions we get: "What should I actually be paid for part-time work?" Here is a rough guide to what we are seeing across flexible roles in Aotearoa in 2026. Figures are full-time-equivalent (FTE) — pro-rata them for your hours.
Administration & office support: $55k–$72k FTE
Bookkeeping & accounts: $60k–$85k FTE Marketing coordinator / specialist: $65k–$90k FTE Operations / office manager: $70k–$95k FTE Customer success / support lead: $65k–$85k FTE People & culture: $75k–$100k FTE
A few things to remember: - Part-time does not mean a lower hourly rate. A 30-hour role should pay 30/40ths of the FTE band, not less. - Remote and hybrid roles often pay the same as in-office — do not accept a "flexibility discount." - Specialist skills (finance, data, senior marketing) push you to the top of the band.
When you get an offer, check it against these bands and ask with confidence. The Salary Negotiator can give you the exact words.
