Terms and conditions
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These are the terms that apply when you use Jobs for Mums. They are written to be read — if something here doesn’t make sense, ask us.
1. Who we are
Jobs for Mums is a New Zealand job platform connecting people looking for flexible work with employers offering it. These terms apply whenever you use the site, whether or not you have an account.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
The information you give us needs to be accurate. Applications are sent to real employers, and a CV that misstates your history is your responsibility, not ours.
3. What we do and don't promise
We connect candidates and employers. We do not promise that you will be matched with a role, that an employer will respond, that you will be offered work, or that any particular candidate will be found.
Job listings come from employers and from other sources. We take reasonable care, but we do not independently verify every listing, employer or salary, and a listing is not an offer of employment.
4. AI-generated content
Parts of the service use AI to draft CVs, cover letters and summaries, and to suggest matches. That output is a starting point, not advice, and it can be wrong.
Nothing is sent on your behalf without your approval. You are responsible for reading what an application says about you before it goes, and for correcting anything inaccurate.
5. Pre-employment checks
Reference checks collect responses from the referees a candidate nominates. We report what those referees said; we do not verify or endorse it, and a check is not a recommendation.
Some checks shown in the product are not yet connected to a provider and return a clearly-labelled demo result. Those must not be relied on for any hiring decision. Where a check is live, it is labelled as such.
6. Premium subscriptions
Premium is a subscription. You choose a 1, 3 or 6-month plan and it is charged in advance for that term. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.
Where a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during it. If you cancel before the trial ends you pay nothing. If you do not, the plan begins and is charged at the price shown when you signed up.
Plans renew automatically at the end of each term unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Account, then Plan, which opens our payment provider's portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal — your Premium features stay on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your account reverts to Free rather than being deleted.
We do not refund part-used periods, except where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 requires it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under those Acts.
If we change the price of a plan, the change applies from your next renewal and never mid-term, and we will tell you before it takes effect.
7. Employer payments
Paid employer plans are charged as described at the point of purchase. Prices shown include GST unless we say otherwise.
If a hire made through a paid listing does not pass 30 days, contact us and we will re-open the role at no cost. Beyond that, fees for services already delivered are not refundable.
8. Acceptable use
Don't post roles you are not hiring for, misrepresent who you are, scrape the platform, or use candidate information for anything other than considering someone for the role they applied to.
Candidate information you receive as an employer is provided for that hiring decision. Using it for marketing, or passing it on, is not permitted.
9. Ending your use
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts other users at risk, and will explain why where we can.
10. Liability
Where the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act applies, nothing here limits your rights under them.
Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost earnings or a hire that does not work out, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Where a change is significant we will tell you before it takes effect. Questions go to hello@jobsformums.co.nz, and New Zealand law applies.
12. General
Entire agreement — these Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement, and supersede prior discussions. Nothing limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
Severability — if any provision is unenforceable, it is severed or read down to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest continues.
No waiver — failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
Assignment — you may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to a related company or in connection with a sale of our business, on notice to you.
No third-party rights — except as expressly stated, no person other than the parties may enforce these Terms under subpart 1 of Part 2 of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017.
Force majeure — neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, excluding payment obligations.
Electronic transactions — the parties consent to electronic communication and electronic signature under Part 4 of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017.
Relationship — the parties are independent contracting parties. Nothing creates a partnership, joint venture, or (except as expressly stated) agency.
